Self Install Guide

Please use this guide if you are experiencing problems with the above clients.

Installing Forge (Framework and API code library that is needed for mods to work):

  1. Make sure you are running the latest (1.7.10) Minecraft client.
  2. Go to the Forge Downloads Page and download the “1.7.10 Recommended” (Version: 10.13.0.1180) Forge version by clicking on “Installer-Win”.
  3. Save the file to a convenient location of your choosing.
  4. Open the Forge executable and select “Install Client”.
  5. Close the Forge window.
  6. Launch the game from the Minecraft Launcher and make sure you select the “Forge” profile.

Installing MCPatcher (smooth one-piece glass texture and other texture improvements):

  1. Go to the official MCPatcher Downloads Page and download MCPatcher 1.7.5.
  2. Save to a convenient location.
  3. Open the MCPatcher executable.
  4. Click on the “Profile” menu item (top menu bar) > Select Input Profile > Forge (click).
  5. In the drop-down next to “New Profile”, double-click and rename to “Aurora Orbis” (or something else to your liking).
  6. In the drop-down next to “Game Version”, make sure to select “1.7.10-Forge10.13.0.1180″.
  7. Make sure all the checkboxes are checked.
  8. Click “Patch”.
  9. Close MCPatcher.

Now you have two options for the following inventory mod:

Either choose TMI (TooManyItems) and skip over the next install section (ChickenBonesCore)

OR

Choose NEI (NotEnoughItems) and following the next section.

The 3 major differences between the two:

  • NEI has built-in recipes for all items (hover over an item and press R).  NEI also lets you customize the look of its interface between a older TMI GUI and its own modern GUI.  You can’t make any tools using NEI.
  • TMI has the ability to make Level 9 tools that are not enchantable anymore using an enchanting table (needs server operator powers).

NotEnoughItems ONLY:

Installing the Mods and Playing:

  1. Download the Aurora Orbis Mods Only NEI (MC 1.7.10) zip file and save to a convenient location.
  2. Unzip the contents to a convenient location.

Problems & Solutions

Problem: I get the following error when I try to launch my game:

[main/ERROR] [FML]: There is a binary discrepency between the expected input class ahu (ahu) and the actual class. Checksum on disk is aa862596, in patch 746fe971. Things are probably about to go very wrong. Did you put something into the jar file?
[main/ERROR] [FML]: The game is going to exit, because this is a critical error, and it is very improbable that the modded game will work, please obtain clean jar files.

Solution: Use the following Java parameters:

-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
